Ann Marosy - My Blog
WelcomeWelcome to my blog. I wanted to introduce myself - my real self - to my readers and visitors to our website by telling you a few things that I'm interested in, my pursuits, my goals and what I really care about. On my "About the Author" page is just my resume. Yes, I've achieved a lot within my career - rising from a junior clerk at the age of 16, studying part-time at university to gain my accounting degree, and ending up the Financial Controller of a Fortune 500 company. I later taught accounting at University level (absolutely love teaching - anything!) and then designing my Money Program, publishing books and running workshops. But that is not all me. I love studying everything from ancient Greek philosophy, eastern theology - particularly Zen (do you agree that the Star Wars' Jedi are based on Zen Masters too?) through to the spiritual teachings of the Native American Indians My books and articles are not actually about money - in fact, what I really write about is 'Financial Freedom', and my own financial mantra: scarcity is the root of all evil - the underlying cause of all crime, wars and poverty when you think about it, is the belief in scarcity. I'll keep adding to my blog from time to time - as below. And please write to me if you have any questions. I also love to add my favourite stories, quotes and other paraphernalia. If you want to have your say, please write. Wishing you all good health, freedom and happiness. Ann
Favourite Quotes:
"I must create a system or be enslaved by another mans; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create." - William Blake
"A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do." - Bob Dylan
Blog date: 2 August 2008 Below is an excerpt I included in my SelfGrowth.com page, which fairly well summarises my life. By the way, if you're into anything to do with personal growth and have your own business or practice in one these related fields, you must register there. This site is one of the largest and growing sites of its kind - everyone's listed there, from Oprah through to Robert Kiyosaki. You can go to our links page and click on the SelfGrowth.com icon for their site.
Did you know that Tolstoy, author of "War & Peace", was a Zen Master? Well maybe not, but here is what he wrote and is the message behind the book:
The reason I linked him to Zen, is that is precisely what Zen teaches you. Zen Buddhism is not a religion, by the way, its a way of life - an amazing philosophy and creed to live by. With techniques such as Mindfulness and Metta (the art of loving kindness) meditations to eliminate all your suffering - the ultimate aim of Buddhism. You can be a Christian Buddhist, a Jewish Buddhist or even an atheist Buddhist, because Buddhism is not about religion, its about healing oneself. I like that. It all starts with ourselves. If you're interested in finding out more, I thoroughly recommend listening to the downloads at www.zencast.org. You can even download their podcasts onto your MP3 player.
Other things I'm passionate about ...
1. Pharmaceutical companies' cover-ups.If you loved that wonderful, kind-hearted and magnificently talented man, Heath Ledger, and wondered how is it possible that we lost him so early in his life, please please read "Who Killed Heath Ledger" at http://ezinearticles.com/?Who-Killed-Heath-Ledger?&id=1054307. There's a lot more behind what they are saying than you think.
My Favourite Story About Perseverance
My favourite story of one man’s refusal to give up is about a man who wandered through life aimlessly until he turned 31. He then decided to start a business but was bankrupt in 18 months. He then ran for local government and was defeated badly. He started another business at age 34 and went bankrupt again. He fell in love with a beautiful woman, who later died. After recovering from a nervous breakdown at 36, he went back into politics and again ran for local government. He lost again. At age 43, he ran for Congress and lost. He tried again three years later – and lost again. Two years later, he ran for the Senate but was defeated. At 55, he again was badly defeated when he ran for his party’s nomination for Vice-President. He tried again for the Senate five years later, but lost. Finally, at 60 years of age, he won his first elected office – the President of the United States of America. He was Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln later admitted he had a lifetime battle with fear and depression, but would never quit. - Newman, B., The 10 Laws of Leadership, Vision Business Book Publications, Number 104, BNC Publications. 1994.
